News: Toyota's chief test driver dies behind wheel of LFA in Germany

Just in case you guys haven’t heard the sad news from Nurburgring yet… while test driving a Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition on the 410 highway just outside Nurburg, Germany, Toyota’s chief test driver died in a head-on collision with two other drivers test driving a new BMW.

Both BMW drivers survived the crash (but are hospitalized in critical condition), but unfortunately, Toyota’s driver (who Autoblog speculates is Hiromu Naruse – the personal driver of Toyota head honcho Akio Toyoda, and a highly esteemed driver who is known within the Toyota organization as the Godfather of the LFA) didn’t survive the crash.

Just take a look at Rhys Millen‘s new RedBull/RMR/Hyundai PM580 race car testing at El Toro Airfield in Irvine CA! This thing sounds and looks nuts!!! Built by Rhys Millen Racing and powered by a turbocharged Hyundai Lambda engine, the PM580 puts out 775 HORSEPOWER and 750 ft/lbs of torque… and only weighs 1900 lbs, giving it the ability to do 20-120mph in 5.9 seconds!

Don’t expect to see RMR’s new PM580 at the next Formula Drift event, however… this thing was built for the toughest hill climb of them all. Can anyone take a guess as to why that is?

The title of this post is an inside joke if you watched The Karate Kid starring Jaden Smith last weekend which ranked in a hefty $56 million in its opening; making it the #1 film at the box office. A remake of the popular '80s film, the 2010 version beat out an update of '80s television series The A-Team. The action flick starring Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper claimed the 2nd-place prize with $26 million in its debut weekend.

my view? This was truly a movie that everyone wanted to see, it didn't matter what age, race, sex. This was a movie for everybody. People in the theater were so into it like if the fight scenes were live and the bullying was taking place in front of them! Awesome.

Nigel Sylvester teamed up with Gatorade to release the first video in a series that shows his unique life as a pro BMX rider. The video is one of three to be released – all of which were conceptualized and written by Nigel and Glenn PP Milligan. The videos show just how crazy Nigel’s life is on and off a bike, and has a cool storyline woven throughout the three videos. — This first video, “The Night Episode,” shows Nigel as he cruises the streets of New York City after dark, with fellow riders Ralphy Ramos, Tyrone Williams and Ralphy Bury, and follows them from bike to boutique to bar.
