On this day he was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama shuttled around the nation's capital in a virtually impenetrable armored Cadillac complete doors at least five inches thick. According to GM, the new "2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine" is the first not to carry a specific model name.
It has variously been described as part car, part truck and part tank. The Secret Service refers to the heavily-armored vehicle as "The Beast."
