Exclusive: Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music Imprint Inks Label Deal With Island Def Jam
Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music imprint have signed an “exclusive long-term worldwide label agreement” with Island Def Jam. The label which was first created in 2004 adding artists such as John Legend, Common, KiD CuDi, Big Sean and more recently Pusha T. For the most part the imprint served as a production and management company. The first act under the new label deal will be Big Sean whose Finally Famous: The Album drops tomorrow in stores. Chairman and COO of Universal Motown/IDJMG Barry Weiss says:
“G.O.O.D. Music is an exciting new chapter in the long and successful association of Kanye West and Island Def Jam. As a recording artist and a producer over the past eight years, there is no one who has made a greater impression on the game than Kanye. We look forward to working closely with the new and established artists that he will be bringing to G.O.O.D. Music, which is already off to an impressive start with Big Sean.”
